Empty Road

While not an uncommon sight the Sumburgh to Lerwick road has a lot less traffic on it these days. Fewer tourists and flights into Sumburgh have seen to that.

I do have a great dislike for telegraph poles and their wires but glad we don't have pylons. Wind turbines are an interesting sight photography wise as at the moment you can usually manoeuvre the lens to avoid a turbine that may get in the way. What I'll say once the north mainland gets it 100+ monster remains to be seen.
Lovely image. I don't mind the old wooden telegraph poles, within reason, and they're pretty cool in this image. Wind Turbines too - they can be quite dramatic. I've never yet seen them and though how awful they are, but then again, we don't have them in our back yard. I might think differently then.
