Shame about the fence getting in the way but I reckon any chance photo of a Water Rail is worth it. This could easily be the same bird that appeared in the garden a couple of times over the winter as it was hanging around the same water course that starts at the back of our house.
Respite from the gales today although still a very cold wind blowing in from the north. Strong southerly forecast for the next 24 hours before becoming gale force again as it turns back north.
With the way you've managed the depth of field, I think the fence enhances the photo. Beautiful detail in the feathers. Hope you are battened down and staying safe!
