The Coastguard helicopter landing at the Clickimin landing site brining a patient from Unst to Lerwick for onward transfer to the local hospital. While Unst is only 57 miles away to get an ambulance down from there would include two ferry trips so it can take a couple of hours. The helicopter based at Sumburgh another 25 miles south will often carry out trips on behalf on the NHS. We are lucky to have one close at hand.
