It was dry when I left the house but inevitably when I was at the furthest point from home the heavens opened. A couple of spots to shelter when the rain was at its worst including here looking down the road where I had just come from. An old garage provided the shelter at this point.
In a week where there seems to be an increase in birds heading south on migration I managed to see 42 species which included 11 species in the garden through-out the week. The highlight in Shetland however is an Egyptian Nightjar at Virkie which is a first in Scotland and only the third ever in Britain after one in 1883 and one in 1984.

It does feel like the weather is turning equinoxal (if there is such a word)
