Thus titled because my desktop is dead and I'm trying to work with my laptop...so if I miss a few days, do not be alarmed...and this photo is for the texture theme (if you're reading it was finally a successful upload!)
Sounds as though it didn't take much for my wacko pc to become a highlight of the day! Wishing you your computer back soon!
So about the pc... Took several into the P.O in Carpinteria, CA and asked to have a hand cancellation put on them (about 12 that day). When I arrived home 3 days later, "your post card" had arrived at my house! I asked Ken to take it back to the P.O and try again, but I wasn't present to see what happened! Seems she used the black marker to cross out all those parts (!!!! arghhh!), re-wrote my return address up top and put it back into the mail! It was a week later and the post card was on my doorstep again! Ken suggested I put it in an envelope and just mail it again, but by now it was a real challenge! He took it back, and THIS time the postal worker said that it was an oversized pc and needed more postage on it!!! Ken let her do that, and now you have this fine example of (excuse my rant!) the ineptness of the US postal department! (Postal *Service* it's not!) Funny that all those other cards went to their destinations and no one said they were oversized!
Sorry I'm on a tirade as you're getting to know me, Lin...I usually don't go on like this, but it was *an experience*! I will now send you another card that's not such a mess, but I had to see this one through to the end! ...and I actually DO like to send mail!!!
@Weezilou
LOL - Love the pc even more now that I've heard the story! And the stamps are so cool. My local "official" post office isn't much better than yours - Last year, I took a postcard addressed to Germany and the worker didn't even look at it. He was going to put a regular US stamp on it, until I pointed out the address. Maybe they don't see many postcards anymore! I still love getting actual mail - I keep every card and letter (I have 40 years worth - it's my favorite form of clutter) Again, thanks for sharing the story - it was just what I needed after a really long day at the office!
