A couple more from my trip to the raptor centre yesterday. This is Pawgwashiing Migizi, or Pawgwa to her friends. She is a gorgeous Bald Eagle.
More about Pawgwa: “She arrived from Pays Plat First Nation near Thunder Bay, Ontario after she had been found by residents as a young juvenile wandering along a shoreline, amongst other local bald eagles. She has a poorly healed broken bone in her left wing and cannot fly. It was suspected that she fell from her nest as a nestling, which is not uncommon. Due to her injury, she was deemed non-releasable as she will never be able to survive wild. Her name translates as “Eagle of the Shallow Water”. It is Ojibway and she was given this name by the Indigenous community where she was found.”
Wonderful capture. fav
