The Monarchs flew into the Hill Country in front of a cold front yesterday

They were swarming all over this plant. I don’t know the name of the flower, but they loved it! They were on their way to Mexico to winter. In the spring they will fly back to Canada. They are fabulous butterflies, they bring back West Texas childhood memories for me.
Lovely

Stunning capture - and it must be a spectacular event to witness! I have seen documentaries on TV regarding their migration, but to be amongst it must be awesome :) fav

Thank you for your lovely comments and favs, this was such a great thing to watch, they didn’t care one minute about my camera clicking away. They are so “flighty”, it’s hard to get even one with their wings spread open. You put this on the PP, my goodness, thank you so much!
