This rose bush in our front yard is the oldest one we have. It is the first to bloom every spring. It will bloom till winter, through all the spring winds and hot summer days.
Wonderful capture of these beautiful roses, Lou Ann! I think it is truly amazing that they survive and bloom during the hot Texas summers. Do you have water restrictions during the summer like we do here in San Antonio?
@gaylewood Starting May 1, we cannot water between 10 AM and 6 PM. Depending on water usage we may go to alternate days of the week if the summer is too hot and too much water is used by everyone. Since our drought broke last year we've had some relief on water restrictions. Thank goodness!
@onewing@claudiet@bkbinthecity@olivetreeann thank you for your comments, I appreciate your taking the time! @henrir thank you for commenting and the fav! Because of our summer heat it seems the best landscape flowers for me are Texas hardy plants, Lantana and Nandina do well. I'm like you I use my pots for flowers to add variety to my backyard.
"Tried and True"... They ARE the best! And I love bringing in fresh-cut flowers when they're plentiful enough to leave some behind to make the yard look good, too!
