The 1910 neoclassical courthouse in Missoula is topped by an ironclad dome that is a beautiful design for the times. The frame is gold leaved and has lovely antique oil paintings depicting Montana landscape scenes. Atop the dome is a bell tower that is not accessible to the public, the bell rings every hour of the day and night.
Thank you so much! This old courthouse is so beautiful. Alas, they have added to it and the new section is so bland and modern, it's hard to walk from the old to the new because they are complete opposites in charm and beauty!
Thank you so much for your comments and fav's. You can sure tell I'm an amateur photographer, I couldn't get the whole dome in my pictures. Now that I think about it, I probably could have laid down on the floor to shoot, but it is a busy courthouse with people everywhere, so just not possible to do that, smile.
@gigiflower Awww, thank you! I'm sure if you had been with me, we both would have laid on the floor and gotten some great shots of the whole dome! Smile!
