Grizzly! by louannwarren

Grizzly!

On our Red Bus Tour in Glacier we were thrilled to see this bear just munching away on the park vegetation, getting ready for a long cold winter! This for the "critters" theme this week.
another exciting sighting - how wonderful

I hope you weren't as close as this looks! Amazing to see these creatures in the wild!

So nice to catch a glimpse of these guys in the wild - and even better to get a great shot of it.

Great capture

Wow, what a site to see. Great capture and don't get off the bus. :)

Oops, I guess I should have said "sight" to see and not "site."

Wow - that is special - I expect they couldn't guarantee that you would see a bear!

what a find :)

Glad you got to see a Griz! They make themselves pretty scarce when it is tourist season.

Wow... what a great sight!

I would love the opportunity to photograph a bear, but from a very long distance away
July 25th, 2017
Oh my. He looks huge!

Great shot and so nice that you were on the bus!

Reminds me of my recent back yard visitor- only this fellow is not one to be crossed. My little black bear would rather run away. Good shot.

How exciting to spot a grizzly - would make my trip!

Thank you for commenting on my bear. We were probably 50 feet from him and we were safely in the bus. I was actually surprised that he didn't seem to even notice the bus at all. All the snow Glacier had this year made the vegetation thicker than ever, the bears should really be fattened up for their hibernation this winter. We were thrilled to see him!

Yellowstone is so giving with the wonderful animals and different topography! I really must get back there someday! We loved it as children!

Wonderful to see him...

Great capture.

@Weezilou This guy was in Glacier. The only animal we saw in Yellowstone were the bisons. I had hoped to spot a moose for Pam at either park but it wasn't meant to be!

@henrir @happysnaps @littleconnie @pdulis Thank you so much for your comments and favs!

LOL regarding the moose! I, personally, could be quite happy with bear and bison! I sounds like a wonderful vacation! So much to see in America!

Nice capture. Are grizzly dangerous bears?
July 26th, 2017
@claudiet All bears are dangerous, I doubt Grizzlies are any worse than the black bears. You have to keep your distance and be a lightning fast runner if one of them starts after you.

Great spot and capture
