Lupinus texensis is a species of lupine endemic to Texas. Seeing the first Bluebonnets every year is a rite of Spring, we know winter is over when they bloom. We plop our babies, our brides and our dogs down in Bluebonnet patches for photos, watching all the while for spiders and rattlesnakes, smile.
Awesome image, Lou Ann! Your narrative made me laugh and is so true ... while the bluebonnets are always so beautiful, sitting in them for a photo is not always a pleasant experience. :-)
Beautiful shot and I agree about the VanGogh similarity. I’m jealous, still a while to go up here before I’ll see that amount of flowers anywhere. All I have are a scattering of tiny whit snowdrops.
Very pretty, LouAnn. I almost called them bluebells. I have not seen them when in Texas. I guess I have been there the wrong time of year...usually summer vacation or Christmas as a kid. :)
