A Texas Prairie at 75 mph

Anytime you drive in the western half of Texas you see miles of prairie grasses and Mesquite trees. The eastern side of the state is the Pineywood region, forests as far as you can see. Texas is so large, it has 7 distinctive regions. I faffed this photo because I took it through my passenger car window and the window tint gave it a green cast. 😊
I really like this unique look of Texas. Thanks for the geographic info too - never been to Texas but would love to go sometime.

Well it quite a different look for sure Lou Ann, Texas is indeed large State with lots of open spaces.
United Kingdom is about 3 times smaller than Texas.
Texas is approximately 678,052 sq km, while the United Kingdom is approximately 243,610 sq km. the population of Texas is around 25.1 million people, where as 64.4 million people live in UK:)

@pcoulson well my goodness Peter, thank you for your great report on Texas’ size, etc. compared to the UK. We have been going through a population explosion for several years and tall apartment buildings are springing up everywhere In the largest cities. Dallas is approaching traffic gridlock. Everything is so spread out that public transportation just takes too long. It’s very important to live close to your office, just so you can see your family at a reasonable time every day.

@365karly1 @nicolecampbell @gijsje @lynnz @kwind @mittens @beryl @pistache @danette @carolmw @happypat @radiogirl @dide @carole_sandford @sugarmuser @stevepam @olivetreeann @gardenfolk thank you all so much! This popped on the PP and TP this morning, thank you! Sometimes I put that side window down to take photos but it was so hot that day I just left it up! The window tint really affects the colors in photos, glad you liked what I chose to do to overcome that challenge. Smile.
