This silver sculpture “The Virgin of the Apocalypse” is in the Kimbell’s permanent collection. It is South German, however the identity of the sculptor is unknown. She was sculpted in 1486 of silver and gilt, with twelve opals, sapphires, emeralds and garnets embellishing the crown. She was acquired by the Kimbell in 2002 from a private collection in Frankfurt.
