Beauty salons opened Friday May 8, under strict Covid guidelines. My hairdresser texted Thursday saying she had two openings on Mother’s Day, 7:15 AM and 11:00 AM. I took the latter. You text her and wait in your car until your appointment time. She washed and cut my hair, I was masked the whole time. So was she. There was disinfectant everywhere to use on your hands and to clean anything you touched. She is the salon owner and desperate to make this new way of the hair business work. Even though @domenicododaro made a wonderful observation that roses and diamonds are a girl’s best friend, I think Mother’s Day at 11:00 AM, in Denton, Texas, Frances Garcia Jones was my new best friend.

All my natural curl showed up, the longer my hair got. It was really out of control, I had kind of a mad scientist look, like Doc Brown from Back to the Future! It’s amazing how important our hair is. I’m sorry so many of you are having to wait so long. My what a world wide adventure we are experiencing. I have enough photos for a Covid photo book, I’m sure you all do, too!
I'm sure that simple hair cut made you feel great! I take care of my own but what I miss is having a pedicure. With bad knees and a shaky hip it's hard for me to bend over so I'm looking forward to when I can do that again.
I had an 8:30 appointment that same morning. Told Shanda that it must be great to have everybody so thrilled to have her call - she had the happiest clients in the world that day! I think I got on her early call list because I kept promising her I wouldn't touch it myself no matter what. Love your shot!
