When it’s 96 degrees Fahrenheit and feels like 106! by louannwarren

When it’s 96 degrees Fahrenheit and feels like 106!

We had to run an errand yesterday in Grapevine and I just knew there would be a regatta on the lake. Alas just two sailboats, no regatta, it was so hot and there wasn’t a breath of wind. The sailboats would have never filled out their sails.
Nice clouds. It’s hot here, too.

Probably a day to stay indoors. Hope you were in an air conditioned car when you took this shot.

that's one beautiful sky shot, law. if it's any consolation to you, we're roasting in here, too and that very brief thunderstorm didn't help any. i ran my errands this morning in under 2 hours and went home to avoid the 29 degrees felt like 35 degrees heat (that's 95 for you guys). a young man told me on the elevator, "ma'am, you should be staying home, it's not good for you to be out in the heat." i wanted to tell him "what d'you think of me an old lady?" when i realized i am an old lady! 😂

This is a beautiful minimal photo with that huge sky and all those gorgeous clouds. We are sharing your temperature and humidity and I am spending most of my time inside because of it!

@summerfield ha! It’s your hair color, I have been grey for so long I’ve gotten used to everyone thinking I’m old, when I most certainly am not! 😊

@radiogirl @k9photo @pusspup @onewing @jacqbb @marylandgirl58 @ludwigsdiana @happysnaps @joansmor @gijsje @moviegal1 @beryl @happypat @koalagardens @pcoulson @carole_sandford Thank you all for your great comments. I guess the reason I’m so aware of the temperature this summer is that we planted a lot of flowering shrubs, grass and trees when we did our landscaping change. We should have redone it in the spring, because we have to water so much more.

@grammyn it was 82 but I felt I just had to walk because I didn’t walk over the weekend. 😢

This is the first day in nearly a week that we haven't had a heat advisory (103 or above) only reached 98 - some places nearby were lucky enough to get rain and it dropped to 79 there. Don't think it would be much fun on a sailboat today with no wind - maybe just to hold on to the sides and stay in the water :)

@milaniet rain? Wouldn’t that be wonderful. Well they don’t call these the dog days of summer for nothing.

Beautiful clouds in the sky and great sunny day- but the heat is crazy! Glad you were able to avoid it as much as possible. Nice shot.
