My eye doctor’s response to Covid-19’s 50% occupancy
My eye doctor simply turned half of his lobby chairs to the wall. This to comply with our state mandate of public spaces being at 50% occupancy. Through the years I’ve sat by people and had lovely conversations here. Yes, with total strangers, but we always found a common ground. The impersonal, sterile medical offices now make me sad.
It does look so eerily alien and unfriendly , the same happens here as well - I went for a hospital app where the chairs were reduced with two in every three chairs taped off . And on my Dr's app at the local health centre , the waiting room which normally has rows of chairs , seating 60+ was reduced to 10 chairs placed at random in the room ! So strange but necessary . Lets hope things will get better soon !
On the plus side at least you are still able to go to the doctor for your appointment. I think this is a clever solution. A terrific shot to show us what life is like now.
Here in Montreal, all stores are closed except for essential goods and groceries. It's interesting what the government considers to be essential for people. We are still under curfew here which appears to be one of the more successful ways of bringing our high numbers down. We will get through this all together.
A definite sign of the times. Have such hope for these vaccines and that people will continue to take it seriously until we can bring it down. Get my 2nd shot next week. Will feel a little more comfortable about keeping appointments when that is over.
Hmm I know what you mean.
At our Medical Centre I was advised on phone to go in and have a seat. So I did. There were two chairs........more than socially distanced......and no receptionist to acknowledged that you had arrived. But at least the nurse was friendly and efficient with her PPE visor in place.
A real sign of the times Lou Ann in the UK the chairs would be spaced two metres apart so no chance of having a quite chat to the one next to you, lol:)
They do that here too if they don't have any place to store the chairs. I don't see that any of these measures have helped kill this virus. I'm all for protecting the vulnerable but this is not the way to get rid of Corona.
