Jerry’s mother loved porcelain figurines. When she passed away in 2001 we brought this pair home. Jerry put them in his closet for safekeeping. No one in the family wants them and they are too nice to take to charity. Isn't this the way it is now with all of our “stuff”?
So true- I have many things like this I know my family won't want. Should I start looking for collectors now so they don't get thrown out or given away carelessly? I don't know! But I can sympathize with your dilemma! They are beautiful.
@olivetreeann I have a friend who wants to try to sell them on eBay, the only thing is packing them and shipping them if the buyer is not local. Postage and shipping have gotten so expensive!
It’s a bit of a dilemma we all inherit, we have valuable items that our children will not have room for or not to their taste, we have from our parents:)
It’s sad isn’t it Lou Ann. Sadly it might all come back in fashion in another twenty years…..Sod’s Law! Same with really well made beautiful brown wood furniture! So much better made than some if the stuff today. My granddaughter is just buying her first house but is into Retro stuff! Not my cup of tea but it just shows!
Beautiful detail on these lovely figures!
They are beautiful. I think a lot of us have the problem that our kids don't want many of our things. Good luck selling them on Ebay. I need to start doing the same thing.
oh, LAW. these are just so beautiful it's a shame no one in the family wants them. i've the same problem - something i've been holding on to for years, hauled them with me wherever i lived in four continents and the son nor his girlfriend has any interest in them. i ended up donating them to our church last year for our fundraising sale, they fetched a so-so sum, but i was glad that they found a new home. i'm sure you'll be able to sell these.
So true and sad. The cherished memories of one generation don't carry the same meaning and significance to the next generations. It is understandable but sad nonetheless.

I have started doing some of the same with my things, but nothing as elegant as this
Beautiful detail on these lovely figures!
