Waiting For Winter

Nifty-Fifty (equivalent), almost SOOC (just converted to B&W, burned the sky in a touch). Much better on black!

Taken with my compact digital, with the zoom set to 50mm equivalent. To match the old school 35mm SLR standard lens..... And while it is "ok" straight-out-of-camera... well I'm just a sucker for that old-school B&W!

In fact, this looks like something I might've done in my "wet" darkroom, back in the 70'sTaken about 1/4 mile from yesterday's post.

Definitely beautiful on black.

Great on black. I like the gentle turn to the vanishing point. I do miss the smell of fixer and developer now and then.

@henrir @joysabin Thanks both! My darkroom "stuff" has been boxed up for almost 30 years, but I do still have it all. Sometimes I miss watching images fade in under that orange glow. But not enough to give up digital!

Love those lead in lines disappearing into the mist. I'm sure I would never have done anything as subtle as that in the 70s!

@yrhenwr Thanks David! I'm remembering my 70's images through some pretty rose colored glasses, I'm sure! Here's an example from 1982, though. I need to dig up the print and make a better scan. https://365project.org/lsquared/throwbacks/2017-05-31
