33 1/3

So, I'm a bit of a music geek, which only shows up in my photos occasionally. But my ancient turntable has been acting up for a while, and I finally broke down and got a replacement, which I connected yesterday. While testing it out, I couldn't resist a quick photo. And it fall into the guidelines for the site: "..start taking photos of the things you do..."

It didn't quite work, the blur of the spinning (label) is largely swamped out by the shallow depth of field.... Oh well.

That's Rickie Lee Jones' first album (from 1979), if anybody cares!
It’s really something how popular records are again, there are so many turntables now!

I rather like the spin.. I did a whole series on the audio equipment a while back for a challenge, and the phonograph photos were most challenging: https://365project.org/houser934/projects/2017-03-25 and https://365project.org/houser934/projects/2017-03-12

I've trying to get a decent shot of vinyl on the move on my own turntable for a while now...I haven't posted one because can't get anywhere near this!

I like your focus on this. The blue really works with the turntable photo.

Nostalgia...isn’t quite what it used to be. Sigh!

We get enough sense of the spin, foreground right.. No idea who he is but he should be pleased with your excellent shot!

@yrhenwr Thanks David! Rickie Lee Jones only hit the Top 40 twice, both songs from this album. Chuck E's in Love was her big hit, it made it to #4. Young Blood barely made it, peaked an #40.
