Nickel Plate Depot

This old train depot has been "in storage" since 1989, it was announced this week that it will be restored.

From the local newspaper: "The two-room building was erected in 1883 at 447 S. Buchanan St. [Edwardsville, IL] as part of the New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad. It was decommissioned in 1967 and used as quarters for railroad employees until 1983."

Apparently it will take several years to restore....

Nice that it was be restored. Too many buildings like this are gone.

@koalagardens @lynnz Thanks both! When I saw the article that it was going to be restored, I decided to track it down and get some "before" photos. It looks like it will beed quite a bit of work, though.

Love all the detail and 'formal' composition which shows respect for it. Fav. You'd better get more pics of it before it's too late!
