they are so bright it seems this year! we hung thistle bags and have them in droves! nicely captured enjoying his lunch!

Precisely! My back yard was filled with about 20 American Goldfinches all of a sudden on June 10! Unfortunately they were off and gone by the time I got my camera out. Good thing your capture was so nice so I can still enjoy seeing it.
