First Clematis

The first of the clematis are blooming already.

Arrgh, still a long wait for me to see clematis in bloom. Thanks for sharing yours. Do you know the variety? It's a lovely deep blue.

@gardencat Thanks for the nice comments Joanne. It is called "Blue Light". I have been late taking photos recently so this flower was in pretty deep shade so it looks much darker than it is. The real color is a light/medium blue. It has double blooms on old wood in the spring and single blooms on new wood later in the season.

@lstasel A double bloomer, a real bonus. I had one clematis that double bloomed but lost it a few years ago in an extra tough winter.
