which is a small town in Bavaria founded 30 BC by the Romans. After many changes in history, in 1301 it became part of the Habsburg house. Most of these towns were surrounded by walls and had a tower as entrance.
Impressive monument and impressive picture. Gunzburg has been twinned for many years with the city of Lannion, 15 km from here, where I used to work. It is quite an active twinship, with lots of exchanges and delegation visits. Several places in Lannion are named after Gunzburg (the largest parking in the city is called the "Gunzburg parking" for example).
They certainly knew how to build things in those days didn't they. I wonder if some of our modern buildings will be thought of as beautiful in centuries to come
