Now we have it all! Loadshedding twice a day totalling five hours plus no running water. A pipe burst on Friday night and can only be fixed by the end of the week. We had too much rain and it is under water now. The city of Cape Town has a water tank at our clubhouse where we can collect non potable water, drinking water we have to buy. No shower for one week, how horrific. To make matters even worse, last night our President spoke to the nation, what a joker. Alcohol will be banned again and curfew will be enforced from 9pm till 4am. We were also advised to stay home as the peak will only hit us in late August/September! Welcome to a Covid stricken South Africa.
Oh Diana, what awful conditions, I am so sorry to read this. Lots and lots of love to you and strength for the weeks ahead. What a beautiful photograph, so refreshing to look at.
So sorry Diana ....there have been so many setbacks & problems...I can't imagine cold showers & for a week! What a fab shot you have posted....Thinking of you.
Of, Diana! I cannot even begin to imagine living like that! How I hate it for you! As bad as it is for you it is really making me appreciate the benefits that I have in my life that so many in this country take for granted! I wish there were something I could do to make life easier for you.
Sorry to hear this. Must be very hard. We had to be without water the 4 weeks they were rebuilding the bathrooms here but of course we could get drinking water from a tap they had put up outside.
I am very sorry for the bad situation in which you find yourself, I hope it will be resolved as soon as possible...in the meantime I congratulate you for this cool shot
I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles. It's a really testing time but made even worse with the water problem. This is a beautiful capture though to make up for it
Oh dear how dreadful! I can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through ! And what? No alcohol? How do you get through this without alcohol-I thought your still life was of G&T! Gorgeous refreshing still life —hugs
This is so though for you all! And with this water problem and other measures..........stay safe Diana......thinking about you! Your capture is gorgeous!
such a beautiful flower, diana. what a horrible time of restrictions and so many inconveniences you are having. i do so hope you will find a little comfort in the many messages from all your 365 friends - and from me too - sympathising with your plight and wishing you bon courage for the time ahead
Oh Diana, I just feel horrible for you! It's bad enough to put up with all the restrictions but to have basic necessities lacking is a more drastic matter. I hope you can manage- I guess you have to but I sure do hope that pipe gets repaired sooner than they said it would for your sake!
This shot is so refreshing- my thoughts and prayers will be with you!
Oh no so sorry to hear about your restrictions and the lack of water!
Stay safe and healthy, crazy times we are living in!
Beautiful shot of the iced water!
oh my when it rains it pours .... so sorry .... and I thought we had it bad ... our president is a joke and the USA is in serious trouble... I hope we both can whether this storm .
So sorry Diana. And you still managed a really beautiful shot. Is your country familiar with our experiment with banning alcohol? It was called prohibition and it totally failed.
one week without shower? i definitely will die by the third day. it's unimaginable. i hope you get enough rain and a large drum to save the water -- that's what we used to do when we were back in the old country, or i would fetch water about 5 blocks away and fill the drum, someone had a pump well and we paid 50 centavos a week to get as much water. of course we had to do it in so many trips. i know how it is to be without those basic things and i know it must be really frustrating for you. especially during this time. come here and i will bring you to niagara falls we have lots of water there. your composition and set up is excellent, diana. hope the crisis dies down before the one week.
Lovely icy water looks so refreshing. So sorry to hear about your plight. Access to water is so important. In California we're back on lockdown too as of tonight. There's no curfew but there's no place that's open so no one really goes out at night anyway.
Oh Diana, your situation sounds so difficult, yet you've created this lovely still life image, I'm full of admiration for you :) I hope this time passes quickly and your water is restored soon.
You will have to resort to the great Aussie outback bush bath.
