A flower I grew up with

and have not seen again until a few days ago in a field.
Ornithogalum thyrsoides a bulbous plant species that is endemic to the Cape Province in SA. It is a stiff upright perennial bulb up to 50cm tall when flowering.

It is also known by the common name chincherinchee, star of Bethlehem or wonder flower.
