thanks to a very thoughtful postman, this beautiful card did not get lost! (they probably did not toss it away as there was a duty to be paid)
A very long story but I will make it short. For years we do not have a post office anymore, but a great postman we have kept in touch with. He still works for the post office and when ever he sees our name by chance, he lets me know.
That is how I received this beautiful handmade card from dear Jackie yesterday @30pics4jackiesdiamond.
I received a whatsapp and Wayne said if I would pay the R38 (one and a half pounds) he could get it for me.
So now I am absolutely thrilled to finally have this beautiful card on the sideboard.
Thanks so much for thinking of me Jackie, I am delighted and over the moon xx
@seattlite It's been so long now Gloria, one gets used to it. The local post office was kicked out of the building as they did not pay the rent for over a year. Wayne said we will soon get a small post office in Stellenbosch again. Let's see for how long ;-)
@onewing As you say Babs, it is rather frustrating and depressing. We have taken care of the electricity problem in that we have an inverter battery pack to power what's neccesary. How I miss a regular train or bus service in a normal environment ;-)
How do you manage, no post office, no railway, no electricity. It must be so frustrating for you.
