Lean on me

The Dikkops (thick knees) looking very wary in case I get too close! I wonder where he hid his leg?

Wow!!! They look horribly like our Bush Stone Curlews. Wonder if it is the same species

Very unusually and interesting bird. I have never seen them or heard of them. That is what is so exciting about 365. You see and learn so many interesting things. Fav.

Just looked it up and the Bush Stone Curlew is Burhinus Magnirostris and the Dikkop is Burhinus Capensis. Although another reference says they are the same bird. I think they are different though. https://365project.org/terryliv/365/2016-08-20

@tibles @terryliv @henrir @terryliv @gilbertwood @777margo @joannakate @louannwarren @claudiet Thanks so much everyone for the great comments! They are amazing, very protective and exceptionally noisy nocturnal birds. As the live in my extended backyard, I see them daily
