Imagine my surprise by ludwigsdiana

Imagine my surprise

as I looked out of my scullery window. This Dikkop was sitting in my front garden. At a closer look, I saw the four legs of the little chicks. How on earth did they get from the Olive grove (at the back of the house) there? There is no way they could have walked from back to front. Maybe a different couple? I will have to keep an eye on both sides now :-)
I just read that the Dikkop or Thick knee as it is also called, is a night version of a Plover.
Fun capture to see al those legs under mum. Fav
