Pigs Ears starting to flower. by ludwigsdiana

Pigs Ears starting to flower.

the only bit of colour in my garden atm. They look like little bells, a bit smaller than my thumb. As they are waterwise succulents, there is an abundance of flowering stems on the plants. The weird name comes from the fleshy leaves which are supposed to look like pigs ears.
They ave the rich colour of succulents and I think I have these alongside the driveway!

lovely clarity and detail. My pigs ears are just starting to bloom as well, but the white arctotis daisies are coming out already too. Very early for the wild flowers, but there it is. I suppose they know best

Ah now I know the plant. I have a cutting of this plant in my garden. I hope that it will survive and flower :)

@seacreature It is rather amazing Desi, the little wildflowers on our fields and in the olive grove are also starting. Even Magnolia trees are in bloom. It must have been those few hot days we had in between ;-)

@joysfocus How interesting Joy, they are native to desert climates and SA. Their real name is Cotelydon orbiculata. It would be interesting to see yours.
