A nice family portrait. They are pretty well camouflaged, so hopefully they will all make it.

It's interesting when wildlife picks what we perceive to be such a dangerous place to raise a family- it makes you wonder, "What are they thinking?" Good shot!

Their eyes are so large.

@olivetreeann It is really quite sad Ann, a few have been run over already. We do have a speed limit of 30kms on the estate and everyone keeps their eyes open. Even a springbuck has been knocked down as they often walk on the road and go on the front gardens eating some plants :-(

Great find and capture.

@ludwigsdiana We have similar situations here with the wildlife. Deer are often victims- they get too used to people who watch out for them and then someone who's not watching at all comes along... as for the birds, the raptors are among the casualties when they are in pursuit of something that happens to run in front of a car or a wire which they don't see is in their flight path. We do have some wonderful organizations around here the rehabilitate the birds but the deer, possums, and raccoons usually do not survive.
