The original image was pretty monochromatic, a light shone through a crystal vase casting a pattern of shadows on to white card. The colours where created using a Channel Mixer layer in Photoshop, the appearance of a surface texture was created using the Oil Paint filter and the effect was further enhanced by applying the Plastic Wrap filter. The final image whilst abstract gave me the impression of straining sinews attached to a green scaly skin hence the title.
