Perpetual Motion by luvmynynix

Perpetual Motion

This is for my get pushed challenge...motion blur...given to me by Laura @ la_photographic. No matter what I do I just can't seem to get the hang of panning. Is it my settings or am I just not keeping my focus on her well enough. I wanted her to be more crisply in focus and everything else to look like it was spinning.
@la_photographic I tried really hard yet again, but I can't seem to make this look the way I see it in my head. I tagged it critique me so maybe I will get some ideas...if you have any tips, I would love to hear them as well! I'll keep trying! :)

Sorry I can't help you with the panning question- my camera (or maybe it's me) isn't capable of it!

This is a wonderful action shot!

You just have to practice and if you can see how fast to pan with a picture, try again at the same speed. With me its all just good luck! However I like this picture - it gives more an impression of speed than a good panning shot would!

I have to agree with Maggiemae - there is some luck involved! I like what you got though - very fun!

Nice shot. I have difficulty with panning too, but there are lots of tutorials on YouTube and this is one of them it may help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqRb8vH649Y
If not check out one of the others there are lots.
I love the blur on this photo though.

Panning is a tricky one - I've wasted hours before on 1 shot! I found shutter speed of 1/15th and F14 worked best for me on a car moving around 30 km per hour and then keep the camera moving with you once you click your shutter, but its really trial and error all the way! It looks good though!

Panning is hard as for the one I have on the 2nd April I took over 100 photos before I got the one I used. Your photo does look good with the subject blurred.
