Honor by lynbonn

Today I stood at the Tomb of the Unknown at Arlington National Cemetery. I was there to watch the Changing of the Guard. What I saw was so much more.

A group of World War II Veterans on an Honor Fliight Tour of Washington DC were in attendance. When the soldier came out and asked that we be silent and stand, several of the veterans did. Only one remained standing throughout the ceremony, the gentleman who is third from the left.

This ceremony was followed by a wreath laying by school children from California. The gentleman third from the left, remained standing.

Multiple generations honoring those who have served and given their lives. It was a rather extraordinary moment.
What a honor it must have been to see this! I would love to visit there one day
