Corn Crib in the Cold by lyndemc

Corn Crib in the Cold

Icy rain today so all appointments canceled due to hazardous traveling conditions. That meant I could go on a photo hunt in the 4WD with the husband. Found this treasure on a back road I'd never been on before. I particularly like the one stalk of corn growing in front of this old storage building. Have to wonder how it got there as the fields on either side were planted in soybeans last season.

The beauty of the old wood comes on when viewed on black...

Definitely a treasure. I love coming across things like this. It makes a wonderful shot. It does look icy around there.

It looks so desolate....and yet not, with that fence off to the right! Very pretty when viewed on black, but I have to say - I'd love to see it in summer when the fields are green! (I'm not a lover of winter and snow....)

Beautiful composition and processing, Denise. This looks to me like it could be the cover of a book. There's a sense of mystery about it. Great find (and how fun for you and your husband to go out exploring for photo ops together!)

Such a nice response to this picture. Thanks! I owe 365 for being the inspiration to get out and look for something to take a picture of. I'd have never come across this unique structure without this site. Even my husband who has lived in this area all his life hadn't seen this one.
