Out for a Hike

For 30 Days Wild

Morel mushroom hunting is a big sport here in the spring. It's like an Easter egg hunt for adults! My brother-in-law carved this hunting stick (for moving aside tall grass and lazy snakes) with the highly-prized fungi as the stave decor.

My 11 year old niece has come for a two week visit to start out her summer break so I finally have someone to hold a prop or two.
I love this composition (and the manicure!) Fav for me.

How very clever of your brother-in-law. Its a beautiful stick and is set off so well in this composition. very creative. Do you have to be careful of poisonous mushrooms?

I have to admit that my first thought upon seeing this shot was, "now what is a bedpost doing out in the middle of field?" I really like the little bit of color from your niece's wristbands and fingernails - the perfect accent!
