Happy New Year! by m2016

Happy New Year!

I’ve always liked the energy of a new year and the way it feels like a little psychological reboot, but I’ve never been big on New Year’s resolutions. However, as it’s this week’s theme for the Capture52 challenge, I decided to make some proper ones just for funsies.

1. Start running again: I had to stop running early last year because of pain issues, and after a frustrating year of hospital appointments, tests and scans, my physio has told me that I’m making good progress and there’s no reason why I shouldn’t be able to run again soon.

2. Ace my course: I went back to college full time in September to study Art & Design. I’m loving it, it’s been a dream of mine for decades and I should’ve done it years ago, and my aim is to keep giving it 100% and not get complacent, which can happen too easily…

3. Get back on the photography wagon: When I’m busy or distracted, my photography is always the first thing to suffer, and I fall into the trap of thinking that everything I post has to be a work of art which only makes matters worse. This year, I aim to just make it a part of my daily life again like it used to be.

4. Finally, and most importantly – Gratitude: My 2019 was crappy and awesome in equal measures. There were a lot of hard days but then a lot of really amazing stuff happened that had me beaming out thanks to the universe so I can’t write it off as a bad year. I’m grateful for it all really because it reminded me what I’m capable of, and it reminded me to look out for the good moments and appreciate them no matter what else is going on. So I’ll start by saying thanks to everyone here on 365 – I don’t know if I’d even have continued with my photography over the last four years if it hadn’t been for the inspiration, support and encouragement from you all, you guys are the bestest 😊
