He looks a bit hungry. I want to hug him. Seriously, I really want to just sit next to him and pet him. I'm not saying that's the best idea I've ever had, but still.....he is just too cute!
Definitely looks like he'd have me for dins dins, so I'd stick on the other side of the fence. Gorgeous shot, details, gaze etc. Have you seen the South African guy who managed to gain the trust of lions in the wild... If not and if you are interested I'll dig that out for you. You seem to like lions ...and squirrels :-)
@miranda I have seen this guy who wrestles with them and seems to be accepted as part of the pride. Quite amazing. I fear that one day they will remember that he is not a lion and then it might not be so good. I'm sure he has thought of this also. Yep, I am an animal enthusiast. Thank you for offering.
@lacedxxoo Lacy, He does look so huggable, then I see the wild animal come out. So I'll stay on this side of the fence with Miranda. He is quite thin. I believe he is lean because he is 10 years old and I'm sure this is healthier as he ages, for his joints.
A bit like me with my kangaroo shots; I have hundreds and don't want to bore the pants off everyone so have to space them out! But this is a magnificent capture, Margaret. Definitely not one we see every day. You can't post too many lions, really!
Wow, what a beautiful, majestic animal!!! It looks like he may be contemplating something/someone for dinner, though... Good thing he's behind a fence!!! ;D
This shot conveys some of the awesome power that you can't help but feel when you visit the lion enclosure in a zoo. Meeting one face to face in the wild must be shattering.
You are just the sweetest woman ever. I love your photos, I like photos different from my photos, and photos from the zoo are so beautiful, that is why I asked you, thank you so much for posting this, you are the best! Favorite!
Wow, this is a great capture. I have seen male lions in the wild and they looked pretty big - I then saw them in the zoo next to a glass wall and they scared me sensless - you certainly wouldn't want one to be chasing you!
@sparkle Juliette, I have pictures of him standing by the glass an it stuns me how large he is. I'm so taken by his beauty and forget his wildness, then he turns and reminds me by roaring.
Fabulous shot! The clarity is incredible, perfect timing to catch his tongue and what an expression! I think he's checking out the flamingos, or perhaps just what I'd prefer to think........
NICE SHOT!
Another superb capture!
Of course I don't mind. You do whatever you like. I am having fun trying different shots and appreciate your kind comments.
The overall is very nice :)
