Great blue heron

He was hunting fish, I was hunting him. He got the fish, my picture blurred, but I did get this one.

I have a friend that lost her koi from her pond to these guys, she actually caught one with fish in mouth. Love his surroundings. Ours are found at the slough or in open fields hunting gophers & mice. Wonderful pic!

@molizard I do have a series of pictures when a heron caught and ate a fish. Kinda creepy but cool. I have never seen these guys in fields, only in ponds and creeks. I'm sure they could clear out a koi pond in no time.
