May 2nd, 2011
Gorgeous
May 2nd, 2011
He's a beautiful lion - looks so wise. I keep meaning to say the wwf are doing a wildlife photo comp. I think your lions would do very well. It costs but it's a good cause. : )

How incredible!
May 2nd, 2011
You have such amazing pictures of these guys? What zoo do you go to that you can get so close to them?
May 2nd, 2011
He's magnificent, isn't he? Love this!
May 2nd, 2011
Magz.... He's the one you are painting??? Ok, at least in my aged eyes (and don't go there if you can at all avoid it.. though I am leaving myself wide open) it looks as though it could be him in your painting.. you, lady, are one whole ball of wax.. talent in all areas... this is magnificent!!!!
May 2nd, 2011
@terrih2os Terri, I go to the Rosamond Giffard Zoo in Syracuse, NY
May 2nd, 2011
@melissachi Melissa, yes this is the shot I'm working on.
May 2nd, 2011
@timandelke Eleke, they do seem pretty content. There are three litter mates that have been raised in the zoo. I hate the animals being contained, but I know it's necessary for the survival of some. This zoo works hard at enrichment programs to try and combat the boredom of all the animals.
May 2nd, 2011
another mean moody magnificent shot
May 2nd, 2011
What a handsome lion he is!!
May 2nd, 2011

Manificent..is this a photo of your painting or the subject of your painting?.... curious.
May 2nd, 2011
He's beautiful! He looks like he has something on his mind.
May 2nd, 2011

May 3rd, 2011

omg I kept thinking I was looking at my cat. I have never confused cats/lions before. This lion is just gorgeous. And different somehow. Wonderful shot.
May 3rd, 2011
I think it is great that you shared the wonderful photo of your painting and now the photo you are using for it. It brings us into your process. Thanks. Have a great afternoon.
May 3rd, 2011
OH THAT'S GREAT FOTO
May 3rd, 2011
Wow, the Lion King!
May 3rd, 2011
Gorgeous! He is so handsome, but he does have a sad look about him. Maybe he can look a little happier knowing we enjoyed seeing him. :)
May 4th, 2011
What an adorable expression.
May 4th, 2011
Deb
He looks perplexed. I love your lion series.
May 4th, 2011
His furrowed brow makes him look worried... Is he wondering where his dinner is?!? What a great shot!!!
May 4th, 2011
@jonna Jonna, you are right. The zookeepers have told me the best time for photos of the lions is in the late afternoon. They are near dinner time and are very active then. If a zoo keeper walks by....they really become quite attentive. In this case, he was trying to stare past me to the flamingos.
May 4th, 2011
LOL! This is gorgeous. I never tire of your fantabolous animal portraits.
May 4th, 2011
Looks like he might have had lots of practice at just staring. This is a very sad picture for me, seeing an old lion who has spent all of his life in captivity.
May 5th, 2011
@brittgow Britt, my hearts breaks also when I see the animals in captivity. I struggle with this as I really do love animals. I know now that some animals need zoos for survival. I support this zoo as I have seen the level of care the animals receive. I wish it could be different too. Thank you for looking.
May 5th, 2011
fierce!
May 5th, 2011
Is this ASLAM Of Narnia... great shot! love it!
May 5th, 2011
Wow! Now that is a powerful image....good decision to let him win! :)
May 6th, 2011
Poor old Joshua! He always looks so worried - like he can't remember if he's forgotten something important....?
May 7th, 2011
hahahahahahahaha!!!
May 9th, 2011
flippin eck!!!! he actually has a proper expression going on there! thats amazing! fav fav fav!
May 10th, 2011
