Some pose. With his head tilted like that I had to look twice to see what I was seeing. All that black around a cardinal's beak makes them look like they sporting a beard and mustashe. Nice capture.
Great capture and timing! I think this cardinal was very curious about you. If we only knew what birds were thinking about us. Well, perhaps we don't want to know!
very cute pose by the cardinal, great capture, margaret. i can only hope to get a cardinal pic one of these years! i see you feed them seeds, which is good. just a little note about bread and birds ... if in fact that's a bit of a bun I see there ... it's bad for the birds from a couple of stand points. I know that's not common knowledge, so that's why i'm mentioning it. http://ecojoe.blogspot.com/2006/10/feeding-bread-to-birds.html helps explain. it's very cool to see the cardinal and junko hanging out together! :)
@sunnygreenwood Thank you Anne. I'd never heard that before. I read the article and it made sense to me. I can tell you, many times it lays there for days and breaks down. The squirrels take it home to their nests. Now I'll look up and see if it's the same for squirrels.
To me it looks strange.....
