The inspiration for this photo came from a little painting by a NZ artist, Nancy Tichborne that is in my working diary. I substituted oranges for tomatoes, didn't have a similar vase or the right flower - she used wattle. So its fairly much my composition for that.
Three good things:
1. John pressed a button on the remote that sent the TV into space. I was able to find the solution.
2. Love seeing day to day photos on 365, those not necessarily trying to be a terrific photo.
3. John did it again but remembered the right button to get it back.
Thank goodness for number 2 good thing maggiemae...I sometimes wonder if my everyday photos are very boring with no class!!!! love your treatment of your photo , looks very like a water colour which is very pleasing.
HOW did you process this!? It is so gorgeous! Fav! Your number 1 combined with 3 made me chuckle! So funny. Those are good things. And about your number two...I have just been thinking about that lately...because I often don't put up a more "here's a pic of my day" shot, to put up what I think is a better photo...Well, I also do it because to me, with my macro lenses, it is so COOL to see new things and share them on here. But for yesterday's shot, I reminded myself that I need to post every day shapshots of my life. So that is why I went with the front porch/tennis shoes, the manhole cover, and the snail. They were just things I encountered in my day.....
@espyetta it actually took ages - the light changed throughout the day and the shots became better. I used the "befunky"app to turn it into a watercolour picture and I really loved it! Thanks for your fav!
So this is your composition and I like it very much.
I love your 3 good things. Sometimes just finding the fix for something like that really makes the day/
Very nicely done, and LOL at the remote. My Wife usually does that, and I am no better because I have a terrible time trying to figure out how to resolve the issue
Such a beautiful still life, Maggie. I love this composition and the wonderful processing.
Sounds like our family isn't the only one that has occasional remote issues. :)
it does make it your very own composition, inspired by the artist, or in the style of. most excellent set up, i would say, and the colours and lighting just worked together to get this great portrait. would hang this on my wall without any hesitation. great job, maggiemae.
Love the watercolor effect! I like oranges better than tomatoes too, (the color AND the fruit). I love how it blends well with the greenery. Beautifully done.
