An exercise in focusing on this very particularly, long stigma on the fuchsia! This part of a flower traps the pollen and the pollen is on those white bits which are called anthers. The pollen travels down the long pistil that the stigma is at the top of (not very good grammar there!) to the base of the flower called the ovary. Fascinating!
Three good things;
1. One never stops learning! Especially when you continually forget facts.
2. Found a good recipe for risotto from Jamie Oliver. It's got vermouth in it so I might have to taste it to ensure it hasn't gone off!
3. The cat's going mad- pretending there is a mouse up the wall!
Exquisite Maggiemae. Your focus and dof are perfect and the colours sing against the black, fav for me! And, an added bonus, you know how to spell "fuchsia"!
First I love, love your three good things....they made me laugh & it's the middle of the night here....yes, can't sleep again! Didn't expect to be learning about the birds & the bees at this time of night! Great photo too!
@happypat 365 has been off line for hours otherwise I would have responded to your 'middle of the night' comment! My time is 2.30am but I don't want to get up for fear of waking both John and the cat up!
@maggiemae Funny just after I posted on your post I couldn't get it to do anything. I am on my other computer in the office this morning as my ipad is still stuck on 'not responding'! Interesting to see it was perhaps not me!
Wow. Great macro and closeup shot. Excellent detail. Love the color against the black. I keep trying to focus on things like that but they never come out clear. They are always fuzzy. It just won't focus. Good job on your success.
