This sweet little cottage is always so cute for a photograph seen on the way through Central Otago. Probably built in the 1860's as is our current holiday cottage, the walls are over one foot thick.
Three good things;
1. Beautiful weather in Central, 27 deg most of the day!
2. Taking photos on a journey is as good as it used to be having to let dogs out for runs everywhere we went.
3. Outside our thick stone walls the lavender is growing over a metre high.
You are having Christmas in a lovely simple way Maagiemae.........enjoy your stay ....hope you get some great photos there too! Must be wifi so not too remote!
@happypat It is fairly remote but I employed great cunning! Only chose one of the two holiday homes offering Wifi! Our one was the cheapest and actually great value for money - soft fluffy towels, Sky TV, and the best.... a cherry tree which we are allowed to pick the fruit!
@snaphappi Thank you Maggie! Those in this region are now monitored with water usage and have to pay for the water they use! No wonder its dry round here - the Miners have long gone!
Love this little cottage. So like the ones here in Cornwall. As Cornish miners settled all over the world it could even have Cornish connections! Have a great holiday and have a Happy Christmas
Just gorgeous love the way the foliage complements the color of the stone - foot thick walls must go a long way to keeping the temperature inside pleasant all year round.
A very Merry Christmas to you Maggiemae.
