These wonderful beasts of burden were in evidence here in the NZ Ploughing Champs - about 45 minutes away from home.
There were old tractors and new tractors and then these wonderful big horses! Well trained, well looked after and a beautiful sight!
There were lots of farmers tramping around here in gumboots and big smiles!
Three good things;
1. Yolanda’s adventures ( on my other page) seem to just happen! I guess I read a lot as a child!
2. Friends who were neighbours just pulled in with their car to enable them to change in our bathroom for another event! They are involved in dendrology!
3. People watching - you can watch but you don’t have to get involved in a conversation!
Terrific a,punt of detail.....you can almost see every hair on those horses. I will have to google dendrology too! It's so intetesting wTching this type of ploughing...harry remembers his family ploughing this way when he was a child.
