An historic part of Oamaru and one which is becoming more popular with tourists alongside the Penguin show.
Cobbled street with a tram line down one side, it is flanked by old and huge Oamaru stone buildings, three storey and with 12 foot studs, some of them!
The street where I practice ukelele on Monday nights and the night is getting darker and colder as the days get shorter!
Have to apologise to the first commenters! I decided the light was too flashy and yellow so have subdued it somewhat now!
Three good things:
1 Not having to get up in the morning to go to work or do anything for that matter!
Some dreams are better not to come true!
My chicken, leek and mushroom pie lasted three meals!
it does give the mood of foreshadowing, as if some creature or someone is going to appear from that darkness and catch you offguard. the processing just made it moodier.
@congaree Thanks John - I was playing with the light and thought this shade of orangey/yellow was better than my original which was sort of lime green, electric yellow!
I have in my old photo files a picture: me, sitting on the edge of the pavement, exactly this road (bright sunlight), stroking a little cute dog. So for me, just a lot of good memories, and not creepy at all. So funny. But I like your picture very much, and the processing is fabulous.
All deserted and kind of scary looking...wouldn't want to walk into the darkness at the end of the street. as far as the picture concerned, I love the light and shadows. fav.
Gorgeous shot with great processing!! I love not having to get up in the morning to go to work!! Especially in the winter when the trains were delayed by snow or leaves on the line!!
@skipt07 I was going to say, Skip that it is safe as houses here but last Sat - early Sun morning, there were two people attacked here in separate incidences! Just too much booze!
Looks very Film Noir, and also comic book...i'm thinking the Sin City movies.
