Snow fell on the high country around us but not down in our coastal and snug town. We went up to our “Lookout” high above Oamaru as I knew that was the best view of our local mountains! The air was so clear here that everything became very focused! The highest mountain here was 62 km away - John found that on Google Earth.
Three good things:
1. It was so cold in our well insulated house last night that my nose was cold - just doesn’t happen! But snug under the covers. The lowest temp in NZ was -20degC. Not as cold as Toronto!
2. Getting excited about publishing companies who are contacting me - do they want the job or just the money!
3. Huddled over a computer for too long made me stiff - it was suggested that the trampoline might loosen me up! It worked!
What a beautiful landscape! Those snow covered mountains look wonderful! I can now visualise you on the trampoline peeping at the neighbours! You should try taking a photo from up there !
Had to laugh, when you said -20C not as cold as Toronto. I don't want to think about winter yet, we just had first days of summer, first day of summer holiday coming up soon for the kids. of well, time flies.
Love your picture of your little town and the mountains in the background. great processing, like the colours.
@bruni Thanks Bruni - even though its winter there is still plenty of colour! Normally doesn't get too cold - hardly ever minus in temps! This winter might be different!
What a fantastic view of the mountains!
And good for you for jumping on the trampoline! I'm impressed - my hips would never stand it!
I'm pleased you're getting some response from NZ printers - now you'll just have to decide which one will give you the best service.
@kwiksilver I think it will be easy to choose, Gillian - the Aussie one seems the most professional but I don't like the idea of 'paper back'! Its not my hips that suffer on the tramp but my bladder!
Beautiful view in that incredibly clear air, fav! Not as cold as Toronto at its coldest, but still pretty cold. Hope the freezing fingers of the cold do not reach to where you are.
@jennywren Yes, Jen - Oamaru has a harbour and is surrounded by hills and then there is countryside only about 5 minutes away and over there a mountain range which protects us from a lot of weather!
The publishers want the money I am sure! I have a whole new respect for you if you are jumping on a trampoline!
