A Sunday Drive today led us to a small coastal village which had its main road in closed due to subsidence. A group of locals got together with Council and put in months of work, materials and machinery to create a new road, drained, built up and levelled! It was opened today and this little treasure of a car was the first vehicle to go down it!
Three good things:
1.I’m glad I brought a wool scarf and gloves - it was so cold with a wind off the sea here.
2. .A great lunch in a little cafe overlooking the ocean - mussels, blue cod, prawns and calimari plus such good cole slaw that we bought an extra container to take home
3. Skype from son in Japan who is sweating under 30 deg temps. It was minus 4deg here this morning!
Wonderful POV & the editing is brilliant. Love the strong colours & textures ...a big fave from me too! I saw the one on FB too....really wonderful example of co operation!
@happypat This one was just a quick snap as they went out of sight, Pat. You can see how cold it was with that exhaust steam. The one on F/B has some road markers in - not here though - I'm a magician-ess!
Oh, I missed this one . What a fabulous capture !!!!! Right place , right time, perfect car, gorgeous settings, wonderful composition and fabulous photographer !!!!
Congrats on the TT
Some how I missed this one Maggie.. it is fantastic.. and good to hear the Moeraki community has rallied and got a road into town.. sounds like you were at Fleaus.. my kind of meal.. fav and congrats on TT
@julzmaioro No we weren't at Fleurs, Julia - prices are outrageous now and she never lifted a finger to help this project! It was a tiny cafe at Kakanui - the best food and view too!
fav
Congrats on the TT
