Now in Auckland and having a coffee and an eat. No actually, I drink water mostly instead of coffee.
Out the window, I saw this incredible car pull up to the lights! Its a 1934 Morgan! A long time ago, it was my ideal car if we had tons of money then I saw what it took to extricate oneself out of it and at my age - I think I would fall on to my knees once I got out of it and thence would be carted off!
Super on the black too!
Three good things:
1. The ‘pie’ I thought was mince turned out to be divine - potato, olive pumpkin, carrot and totally vegetarian! I’m not a convert though!
2. The roaring sound of really big motorbikes coming into the venue!
3. A night at the Trots which were being run opposite the motel. I love seeing the horses race!
Wonderful capture and great processing!! I always wanted a Morgan too Maggiemae but like you I would never get out once I had managed to get in so I think I will have to forget about it!! LOL!! Fav for your fab shot!!
Brilliant find - love the JAP vee-twin engine with the open valve springs. They also fitted the Matchless vee-twin but those were and are much rarer. Have to Fav this!
I don't know how I missed this earlier! You are correct it is perfection on black! unless I miss my guess it wioll be perfection on the PP too! Let my FAV give it a push!
Such a unique find, coupled with your creative processing, makes this shot a treat. I can't believe that the driver's legs are straight under the bonnet... that sounds painful to extricate oneself. Lovely shot.
What an amazing site to happen to see on the street. Your processing conveys what a special vehicle that is -- sort of out of this world -- or at least out of today's world! Doesn't look comfortable, though!
Love the sketch processing you did to this and would have loved one of these cars 40 years ago!! All though it is pretty close to the ground and I'd be afraid other vehicles wouldn't see me and run me over!! Great shot!!! Love it!! FAV!
Wonderful processing on this one!! But, seriously, how could anyone but a midget get in and out of that car comfortably?!! And, to drive it on a road with trucks whizzing by.....no, thank you!!
You & John live the life!! Hobnobbing in Auckland with the fast brigade! I laughed at your description of you getting out of this car but we can dream! Glad you haven't got the 'trots' but are watching the Trots! Have a great weekend....thought you might have gone to theAll Blacks versus Australia ...well done AB. Love the fine artwork here....looks like a comic sketch with terrific detail ...fave.
Instant fav - great presentation and processing. This morning on the Travel Channel I was watching Greatest Mysteries Sturgis (I found it later on you tube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOVZ7O7HYSA ) On the you tube version at time 14:55 it has a 7 minute section about Burt Munro who - through you - I had heard of. I enjoyed watching it
Love this car. I would also have liked a Morgan. My late first husband built a Marcos and I loved driving it but scared myself once when passing a big truck and realised The car only came halfway up its wheels. I am also a motorbike fan, again a past history, but love the sound and the smell of racing bikes. Your meal sounds delicious as third thing I am a vegetarian,
This is a big fav from me
@happypat That car was at the Classic Bike show that we were at! There was another one too of the same vintage. Quite original and different. We watched the big game in comfort, Pat - not into crowds and queues and huge noise!
This is a big fav from me
