Down at our Harbourside place in Oamaru that used to be called ‘Friendly Bay” and in fact, really is, we had coffee and shared a huge savoury scone - crisp on the outside and soft and flavoursome on the inside. We sat outside at a large table and were joined by another couple who we didn’t know but had a great conversation with. Bonus for the day!
Three good things:
1. This young girl tried to stand on this road cone several times while eating an ice-cream and that seemed like a good photo!
2. Bought some naan bread and enjoyed it with a tomato and cheese pasta dish. It was on special as usual - thats all I look for!
3. Put my pyrolytic oven to work - couple of hours later -= clean oven! Didn’t tell me he doesn’t work on Sundays!
@happypat The oven cleans itself with high temperatures, Pat. And it really does! After years and years of scrubbing ovens every Sunday as was my habit, I just turn the switch and walk away!
We reach a stage in puberty when we want to put-aside the things of childhood and embrace the adult world that beckons. Too late we discover that we can never go back and we can only watch wistfully as a child reminds us - with a sudden sharp pain - of what we have lost.
To dream, the impossible dream... to stand on a cone with ice cream...oh wait, those aren't the words. Well, they could be- at least for her. Fun shot!!
Not really dressed for the beach, but then I forget you have are in a different time zone. standing on a road cone while eating ice cream in a "cone" maybe looks too darn difficult to me. I would loose my balance for sure. great shot though.
This capture really shows her childhood joy... the reflections with the ice cream cone are delightful. Also, good for you to let the oven do the work on Sundays! :)
Lovely colourful shot, love the action, a carefree moment well caught. You are all about food tonight, It made my mouth water! Isn't it great when you have a good conversation with people you meet,
That girl had no idea she was providing you with plenty of photo opportunities!! Wonderful capture and detail....love all light reflected in the ripples in the sand! FAV!
