Sweet Violets by maggiemae

Sweet Violets

Found our dear wee violets were popping up alongside the house. They are only 2- 3 inches high but do have a nice purple family organised there for support.
New baby dominated the scene in our lives today but hopefully there will be more photos I can share. I do get a bit huffed with people who find similar noses, eyes, hair etc to someone on a new born baby! I think this unique little person is unique!

Three good things:
1. I got another bequest from my late sister from her Lawyers Trust account - my mouth dropped and I could hardly speak! Went out and bought some new clothes without even looking at the price on the apparel! Hells bells and tadpoles ankles! Don’t say that often!
2. Brill for tea - delicate fish, not hugely expensive but not cheap.
3. Three sleeps to our first NZ rail trip over 6 days in the South Island!
Very pretty. Love the focus on the closest flower

Sounds like you are having a great day. Love the violets. My mother used to have them growing around her house too. She had both white and purple.

How lovely of your sister to remember you Maggiemae......I'm sure you are grateful too. New clothes are good! I can't begin to guess how far you needed to get down to,capture this....you might still be down there for all I know! I can very rarely see likeness in babies but you always get someone who says "spitting image etc "

@happypat I just held the camera down at ground level, Pat and half clicked to focus then clicked fully! Seems to work. I'd have to be lying down on the driveway to look through the camera for these flowers! And then someone might think I was in trouble and call the ambulance!

Violets are native to our area but not like these beautiful dark purple ones!!! Ours are the blue ones and we have a few white ones too!! I never let my husband or myself, mow the grass for the first time of the year until they have all bloomed! Once I picked a "bouquet" of violets and put them in a tooth pick container and they looked so cute!! FAV for sure!
Seems you're having quite the day!! I'm so happy for you!!!

@cashew Thats a great idea for a container, Kathy! I really didn't have one small enough and they all disappeared inside the vase!

Wonderful capture of these delicate little flowers Maggirmae. Babies are individuals if we looked like each other we'd all get terribly confused!!
